La première exposition From Gotham #1 se déroulera à Rennes à l’Impermanence galerie (134 Avenue Général Leclerc, 3500 Rennes) avec Mat Elbé, Thiago Ritual, Solus Art, Phil Artiste et Tarek du 12 avril au 3 mai 2019.
The first From Gotham #1 exhibition will take place in Rennes at the Impermanence gallery (134 Avenue Général Leclerc, 3500 Rennes) with Mat Elbé, Thiago Ritual, Solus, Phil artiste and Tarek in April-May 2019.
Les artistes / the artists:
Phil artiste… Originaire d’Astoria dans le Queens (New York), Philippe (Phil Artiste – Mos One XMEN) a durant ses années d’adolescence au lycée dans les années 80 bombé les murs du métro, les stations et les murs dans le quartiers de Queensbridge à Long Island City. Il n’a pu peindre sur les trains directement car la politique du nettoyage intensif était hélas mis en œuvre sur tout le réseau. Ensuite, Il a débuté sa carrière dans les arts graphiques, la peinture mais aussi l’illustration à l’occasion d’une exposition personnelle inspirée par le graffiti. Il est aussi guide autorisé pour le graffiti et street art dans le quartier de Soho à Manhattan. Phil est membre du célèbre crew X-Men qui est toujours actif. Il a exposé pour la première fois en France, pays d’origine de ses parents, à la Galerie Amarrage lors d’Utopies Urbaines #2. Mat Elbé et Tarek le retrouvent à New York tous les ans depuis 2014…
A native of Astoria in Queens (New York), Philip (Phil Artist – Mos One XMEN) has during his teenage years in high school in the 80 domed walls of subway stations and walls in the Queensbridge neighborhoods in Long Island City. He could not paint on the trains directly because the intensive cleaning policy was unfortunately implemented throughout the network. Then, he began his career in the graphic arts, painting but also the illustration on the occasion of a personal exhibition inspired by graffiti. He is also a licensed guide for graffiti and street art in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood. Phil is a member of the famous X-Men crew that is still active. He exhibited for the first time in France, his parents’ home country, at the Amarrage Gallery during Utopies Urbaines # 2. Mat Elbé and Tarek find him in New York every year since 2014 …
Thiago Ritual… Thiago Ritual is an artist from São Paulo, Brasil. Already involved in visual art as a young teenager, he worked as a photographer’s assistant at 2.8 Photography Studio from 2000-2006, working at six seasons of São Paulo Fashion Week and numerous fashion magazines. During this time, he attended Fujifilm Photography in São Paulo and was awarded a certificate in photography and studio lighting. Hailing from the urban culture Mecca of Grajaú, Thiago became involved in street art alongside top São Paulo artists. He collaborated with community outreach project Imargemhttp://imagemdamargem.blogspot.ie/ , CasaEcoativa and engaged in numerous other social projects for disadvantaged children from the community, including an 18-month period as part of the award-winning Dulcineia Catadora collective with Brazilian artist Lúcia Rosa. He was offered a scholarship at Faculdade Santa Marcelina, São Paulo, Brazil to study fine art, and worked professionally as a fine artist for art studio Adriana e Carlota Atelier de Pinturas, São Paulo from January 2009 to October 2010.
Since moving to Dublin in 2010, he has become involved in the Irish art scene, exhibiting at the Urban Art Festival and the Little Green Gallery, working from a studio in Block T from 2012-2013 and between 2013 and 2014 got a art residence at Abbey Gallery.before comeback to Brasil Painting as an invited street artist at the Temple Bar Night Market, Cabra Park Urban Gallery, Evolve Thomas ‘Street Fest’ Regeneration Project, Bodytonic’s Beatyard and Create Counter Art. He has worked in commercial art in Dublin, producing commissioned artworks and decorating private homes and businesses around the country. Thiago already made paintings and interventions in Brazil, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany,England,North Ireland & France and also has work sold in the United States, Russia, Finland, France, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland and Brazil
Currently he is based in Rennes – France
Solus… Intercontinental artist Solus found art 11 years ago, key to keeping him inspired and on the right track. He embraced his natural talent and keen eye using spray paint as his main medium, leaving his mark in Europe, America, and Asia on walls, canvas, sculpture, and various media. He has exhibited in various international solo shows in America, Canada, and Paris. In 2017 he served as National Trailblazer (Ambassador) for Culture Ireland, representing and promoting culture in Ireland. He also extended ambassadorship to Paris. In 2018 he was nominated as one of five Irish artists to receive the Irish Central’s Creativity and Arts awards, honoring him for his work in the streets of New York. His successful use of color and positive imagery evokes a sense of hope and leaves a mark that is undeniably his.
